Engelhard NO SERIAL Landscape Style Silver Bars [Low Mintage Vintage]

Updated: Jan 5

Among the many varieties of Engelhard silver bars available on the secondary marketplace, one of the earliest examples of 1oz Engelhard vintage pressed silver bars (believed to have been produced between 1975-1980) can be easily identified by their horizontal landscape design and lack of a serial number assignment. Unlike most Engelhard bars, which typically have a serial number engraved directly on the bar, these unique examples also have a consistently distinctive design, featuring the Engelhard logo inside an elongated octagon with the weight and purity. There are four unserialized Landscape Style bar types each of which differ slightly in mintage, perceived value, and design.

The most distinctive feature of these bars is the absence of a serial number on either side of the bar. Most Engelhard silver bars have serial numbers that indicate their production sequence, age, scarcity, and rarity. The bars without serial numbers are considered art bars and are highly sought after by collectors and investors.

The non-serialized Engelhard 1oz Silver Bar also has a unique design. The reverse side of the bar is blank with slightly varying patterns. The design is simple and elegant, reflecting the company’s reputation for quality and excellence.

There are many advantages of purchasing non-serialized Engelhard 1oz Silver Bars.

They are rare and valuable. These bars are one of the oldest, rarest, and most valuable varieties of Engelhard silver bars. Only four kinds of non-serialized standard production Engelhard 1oz Landscape Style Silver Bars were produced, with different mintages: 50k minted, 25k minted, 10k minted, and 5k minted as quoted by AllEngelhard. Based on our experience, there is not a direct correlation with estimated mintage and perceived value/market value. Additionally, we have found that certain lower mintage examples of these bars tend to be more readily available than some of the higher mintage examples leading us to use mintage estimates as a starting point rather than verified fact.

Engelhard produced silver bars and ingots for decades, until the company stopped making them in the late 1980s. The non-serialized Engelhard 1oz Silver Bars are one of the first varieties of Engelhard silver bars, and a collectible piece of Engelhard history.

These bars are small and compact, making them easy to store, transport, and sell. You can keep them in a safe, a vault, or a pouch, and carry them with you wherever you go. You can also sell them online or offline, to other collectors or dealers, without much hassle or paperwork.
